If you’re looking for a cozy, historic hideaway in the heart of Key West, the Curry Mansion Inn is the place to stay. Tucked just off Duval Street, this charming inn offers the perfect balance of central location and peaceful retreat, making it ideal for exploring the island and relaxing in between adventures.
My Stay at the Curry Mansion Inn
I had the pleasure of staying at the Curry Mansion Inn at the end of May, and let me tell you—this place is magic. The inn was quiet, serene, and the self-check-in process felt super easy, almost like renting a vacation home. No hassle, just a code to get into my room and I was all set.
Every evening, guests gather on the patio for a glass of wine and some live music. It’s a small community vibe that makes you feel right at home—perfect after a busy day of exploring. And speaking of exploring, I couldn’t get enough of the tropical plants that surround the inn. The “Traveler’s Tree” was an absolute standout, and the lush greenery surrounding the property added to the laid-back vibe of this little oasis.
Oh, and did I mention the Curry Mansion Inn is pet-friendly? So if you’re traveling with your four-legged companion, they’re more than welcome to join the fun!

Dining & Drinks: A Taste of Key West
Being just steps away from Duval Street means you’re never far from delicious food and drinks, and I found a few favorites I can’t recommend enough:
- Fogarty’s: Right next door, this was my go-to spot for an afternoon appetizer. And hello, conch fritters! If you’ve never tried them, you’re in for a treat. Make sure to grab a souvenir cup!
- Fritas Cuban Burger Café: I loved this place so much I ate there three times during my stay. Their arepas and elote? Absolute chef’s kiss.
- Cuban Coffee Queen: Perfect for a morning pick-me-up—if you’re a coffee lover, the Cortadito here is non-negotiable.
- Two Friends Patio Restaurant: Breakfast here was the perfect start to my day, with a chill, open-air atmosphere that makes you want to linger a little longer.
- The Breakfast Club, Too: Another must-visit for breakfast, with hearty dishes that’ll fuel you for a day of island adventures.

Key West Adventures: Things You Can’t Miss
When you’re staying at the Curry Mansion Inn, you’re literally steps away from so many awesome things to do in Key West:
- Live Music at Hog’s Breath Saloon: I spent a fantastic evening here, enjoying live music and watching people dance in the warm breeze. The vibe was so lively and fun, I didn’t want to leave!
- Snorkeling & Dolphin Watching: These are two must-do activities in Key West. The water is so clear and beautiful, you’ll want to spend as much time on it as possible.
- Rent a Bike or Scooter: Key West is super walkable, but if you want to make exploring even easier, renting a bike or scooter is the way to go.
- Sunset at Mallory Square: If you’re in Key West, you have to catch the sunset at Mallory Square. It’s one of those iconic moments you’ll never forget. But next time? I’m definitely booking a sunset cruise. This small-group sunset sail is at the top of my list.
Getting to Key West
Key West has its own little airport, but you can also fly in to Miami and take the scenic drive down through the Florida Keys. Trust me, the journey is just as beautiful as the destination! If you decide to rent a car and drive, stop at the Key Largo Visitor Center and pick up a salt scrub. It smells devine and makes a great gift to take home to a loved one.
Parking at the Curry Mansion Inn
A heads-up: Parking at the Curry Mansion Inn is limited, and they can’t guarantee you a spot. So if you manage to score a parking space, I highly recommend renting a bike or scooter instead of relying on your car. This way, you won’t have to stress about finding another spot.
How to Book Your Stay
Booking the Curry Mansion Inn is super easy—just click here. If you’re planning to visit during peak season (winter) or around an event, I recommend booking in advance. But if you’re lucky enough to visit during the off-season (especially on weekdays), last-minute bookings are much easier to snag.
If you’re looking for a charming, welcoming, and centrally located place to stay in Key West, the Curry Mansion Inn is an absolute gem. I can’t wait for my next visit!
